Stay Up Late? Made a difference

// July 31st, 2006 // No Comments » // Personal

Well the Blogathon was completed succesfuly by me, lil sis and Dafyd.

So far the 2006 ‘thon has raised over $100,000 for various charities and you can still pledge to donate until the end of today.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored me and kept me company during the long hard slog. Hopefully, next year will be even bigger and better (yes I am doing it again).

Where’s Rob Gone?

I’m here, fear not. I’m actually holding back from my usual spate of posts to ensure the creative juices are in full flow for Saturday.

Plus it’s been way too hot of late.

So what’s new? Well I’ve been watching a lot of Dangermouse, possibly too much Dangermouse (if there is such a thing).

On the Rubicon front, things are going OK. Still too slow for my liking but I have a bid in for a potentially very cool project which I can’t tell you about just yet. Plus I’m making headway on my framework and a couple of CMS tweaks that look like being very useful for the next couple of months.

Oh and it’s now just over 24 hours to the blogathon kick off. I was planning to stick up the tent for crazy outdoor blogging but the forecast shows rain as more than likely so I’ll hold off until tomorrow to make that call… lots of electrical equipment plus rain equals not a lot of electrical equipment.

I’ve got the webcam up and running and will be popping it on the side bar shortly so keep your eye’s peeled for webcam craziness. I’ll also be keeping an archive of all the shots (one per minute = 1,440 frames) and putting them together in to a stop frame video for your enjoyment!

IE7 to be included in Windows Update

// July 28th, 2006 // No Comments » // Tech

This is very good news. According to CNET, Microsoft has designated IE7 a ‘high priority’ update meaning it will be automatically downloaded and installed onto XP users’ machines.

Anything that increases the spread if IE7 has to be a good thing for designers and users alike. Better CSS support, better security and tabbed browsing are but three of the reasons to consider the upgrade. If you want to get ahead of the curve then try the latest beta – it’s pretty stable.
