Questions for LeeAnn

// May 31st, 2005 // No Comments » // Personal

Ok so they’re a little late … all right … a lot late … but they’re here now – LeeAnn; your questions await.

  1. You have been damned to dance for all eternity. Which dance would it be and with whom?
  2. I’m going for cheese mistress insight here – what’s the best MeMe (excluding this one obviously) you’ve ever done? Quizzes and all manner of inane internet entertainment are included.
  3. You’re in the super market when you get the two minute warning. What do you do?
  4. In no less than 20 words please tell us about your favourite ever cheese…
  5. Spit or Swallow?*

Ok so that’s 4 … I got one more to go if you’re interested. Not that it seems to matter as LemurGirl and Dafyd haven’t bothered to answer theirs yet… splitters.

* if you don’t know the deal by now you never will

Now here’s something I would pay to have on my mobile

Further to my earlier, microrant about the state of pop-culture these days, blogless friend James has provided the perfect image to counterpoint my dissatisfaction:

Crazy Frog swingin in the breeze

Strange Fruit indeed!

Build build build SPUT!

Have a demo to do

Need to build 3 virtual machines to do it

Decide to build the at the same time to be speedyish

Wait for 1.5 hours – building 3 machines simultaneously is not so speedy

Go to enter Licence Keys … PHUT

Have used wrong install media

Stoopid Microsoft Licensing structure, stoopid VLE, stoopid, stoopid … me

iTunes and other things I never got round to doing

I’ve just bought my first ever music on-line. By on-line I mean totally on-line. No waiting for a CD to arrive. Just click click download done…

Well almost. Firstly, not having used iTunes before I had to set up and account. Except given that I own a Mac I’d already got an account (which I’d forgotten all the details of) and it needed updating to work with the store. Then I find out that Jersey isn’t supported by iTunes … bummer …

Fortunately for us all Apple have been a bit lazy in determining the location of the buyer. They work it out solely based on your postcode. Most card billing systems aren’t that bothered about the postcode so I simply stuck in a UK postcode (for my old flat if you must know) and lo and behold – I’m allowed to download music. Crazy.

Of course it’s a little worrying that Apple haven’t closed this loophole, handy though it is from my perspective. All you need is a decent Postcode / Address check – all of that info is freely available – or even a geographical check based on the address rather than just the postcode.

Still I’m happy now and have the new ColdPlay EP nestling in my play list.

…the day, the music died

The world’s gone mad. Big Brother is up to its 6th series and the Crazy Frog is number 1 in the UK chart.

Can somebody please order the British Public a frontal labotomy … either that or a crash course in taste and decency.

I mean I know that variety is the spice of life but this is f#cking ridiculous.

2 bids so far and both of them MINE!

The AEC is sprinting ahead now. All the entries are live and are awaiting the hordes of bidders that have been camping by their computers for days awaiting the internet exquivalent of the January sales…

But uptake has been slower than expected. So far there have only been 2 bids … and both of them are for my item!

That siad it is still early days and as any dedicated eBayer knows, all the action takes place in the last hour anyway.

AEC is GO!!!

Unfortunately you’re not really allowed to bid on it but if you know anyone who would like to and doesn’t know me then by all means knock yourselves out.

Force 135 Commerative Beer – Merchandising Placard

I’ll be keeping a close eye on this over the next 7 days!!! Wish me luck.

(No idea what I’m talking about? Try reading the rest)

Must . keep . interviewing …

This lot is for Dafyd … from the aptly titled Chez Dafyd

  1. You’re a linguist right? Which words, in whichever language, do you most like to say / hate to say?
  2. Do you have any hidden skills (ability to dislocate your legs, fart the star spangled banner, etc.) if so, what?
  3. When you’ve answered these you have to interview five people. If you had the choice of interviewing 1 person from any point in history who would it be?
  4. I don’t know if you do already but if you could choose to play any instrument which would it be?
  5. Spit or Swallow?*

LeeAnn’s up next but there is one more interview up for grabs… just hit the comments.

*Shared question … because it’s good to share

Now all I need is an invisible mouse …

Since I got the lovely laptop I’ve been looking for a separate keyboard. Ideally I wanted something wireless but was having trouble getting models that match the Apple Layout.

Maybe the originally named Das Keyboard is the answer…
