All good things come to an end

// July 5th, 2004 // Personal

XSet, or at least the blog that goes by that name, is 1 year old today. I know you can’t see the very first entries as they were lost in one of my early redesigns but my very first post was on July 5th 2003.

As it appeals to my sense of symmetry, it seems fitting that my last post will be on the same date, 12 whole months later. My reasons for closing down are many and varied but basically stem from the same source. When I started this whole blogging nonsense I was overjoyed to find a community of similar minds. I’ve contributed in my own small way but have never real felt that I am doing myself justice and recently finding things to blog about has become a chore. So I’m done.

To those who popped by I’d like to say thanks.

I like to think that my blog-children will post on in my absence and I will certainly be checking up on all of those on my roll from time to time.

Anyway, I gotta go now, I’m tired and promised myself I wouldn’t cry.

Au Revoirs Xset…….. I’m sure you will come up with some other ideas, for your website, in the future.

I’m sorry to hear that you are shutting down. I only discovered your site a month ago, and have really enjoyed it.

Perhaps one day you will start it up again. If that day comes, let me know so that I can stop by. Untill then, may angels and ministers of mercy defend you.

    You’re leaving me-er-us?

I will miss you very much, you have always been one of my favorites, dearest.

  5. Adios, my friend!

  6. Jim says:

No! Say it ain’t so. :(

You don’t need to close up shop, Rob. In this day of news readers you don’t have to worry about constantly entertaining an audience. Just switch to guilt free blogging. When something comes up that you want to share or that you get an itch to write about do so but don’t go out of your way to hunt up things.

Jim’s first rule of blogging: Don’t let blogging become a chore.

Or is that the third rule of blogging? I can’t remember, it’s been so long since I wrote them.

Either way, I strongly encourage a blogging realignment (maybe even a hiatus) over [attempted] retirement. And if you do decide that you really want out of blogging forever, please please please stick around as a reader.

I feel i have to agree with jim here mate, Just stick it on a back burner for a while until somthing pops up, Rather than dissapearing completly.

It would be a real shame to loose you completly. cool mad grin

All the best, and I hope this isn’t the last we hear from you! An irregularly updated blog is better than no blog at all!

Rob – Listen o Jim. He is a voice of reason. Don’t quit!

  11. Jim says:

That’s pretty spooky when I’m a voice of reason!

  12. Sue says:

I have always enjoyed my visits here, Rob, and I will miss you if you leave us forever. Whatever you decide to do, try to stay in touch every once in a while. I have always appreciated your thoughts and comments on my own blog. Take care.

  13. Tilesey says:

Good luck mate – sorry to see you go.

  14. Lisa says:
